In conjunction with the research I can offer battlefield tours with the profits being donated to charity. All tours are open to Freemasons, family and friends. It is a ideal social and charity fund raiser. I am a qualified battlefield guide and have personally researched, constructed and led tours to the Western Front, Gallipoli, and other fronts.
I am planning a trip to Gallipoli in April 2011. Please contact us if you are interested in going so we can gauge demand.
I can also organise weekend trips to the Western Front. I prefer that a lodge or province gets a group of people together and I will take care of all the arrangements and create an itinerary relevant to their requirements. We can see where Bro Rupert Hallowes of Rosemary Lodge 2851 won his VC; within yards, Bro Eric McNair (SD, Apollo University Lodge 357) also won a VC; where Bro John (Jack) Hunter (Nanango Lodge 2873) of the 49th Battalion Australian Imperial Force fell and where his body was found 90 years later, identified by DNA and re-buried with full honours. At least 197 brethren were serving lodge officers when they fell. Three were Masters Elect who never had the opportunity to attain the chair of King Solomon.
